Daidara

Encountered in the mountain quarry, Daidara is an immense, stone-encrusted Genma colossus. This encounter serves as the definitive test of ranged armor-stripping tactics, close-range block discipline, and aggressive soul absorption.

Armor breaking with the Oni Bow

Daidara begins combat shielded by heavy stone plates covering his head, shoulders, and chest. Melee attacks against these plates bounce off and deal negligible posture damage.

Shattering Daidara's armor using the Oni Bow
Target glowing armor joints with charged Oni Bow shots to shatter plates and force an immediate knockdown.

The Ranged Solution: Draw your Oni Bow and release charged arrows directly into his shoulder joints and central breastplate. Shattering a major plate causes Daidara to stumble and crash forward on all fours, opening a 4-second melee DPS window.

Blocking the rushing charge

Daidara frequently lowers his horns and stampedes across the arena in a two-stage forward rush.

Perfect blocking Daidara's charging attack
Do not dodge sideways; square up and time your Guard right before his horns make impact to stagger him.
Why Dodging Fails: Daidara's massive collision box makes lateral dodges inconsistent. A Perfect Block stops his momentum entirely and leaves him dazed right next to you, enabling immediate heavy weapon punishes.

The soul absorption contest

Throughout the fight, shattered armor fragments release dense swarms of loose souls into the air.

Absorbing souls to deny Daidara healing
Hold Soul Absorption between attack intervals to prevent Daidara from inhaling souls to regenerate his armor.

If left unattended, Daidara will plant his forearms and inhale floating souls, restoring substantial chunks of his health bar and reforming his broken armor plates! Always hold the Soul Absorption button immediately following every stagger punish.

Phase 2: Shockwaves & rage loops

Below 50% HP, Daidara rears up on his hind legs to perform seismic ground slams.

Ground Slam Avoidance: When both front paws lift off the ground, jump straight up or roll backward twice to clear the circular dirt shockwave. Immediately equip the Oni Bow while landing to break any newly formed armor.

Frequently asked questions

How do I stop Daidara from healing back to full health?

You must absorb floating souls faster than the boss. Whenever you knock off armor or land a heavy combo, hold down your Soul Absorption button immediately.

Which weapon works best against Daidara?

The Oni Bow is mandatory for dismantling his exterior armor from safe distance. Once staggered, switch to a Two-Handed Stance for maximum vertical strike damage.
